The Key

Your entry to more than 550 cabins

Most of the no-service lodges owned by a local DNT branch, are closed. The standard DNT key to the locker, is one of the main benefits for a member.

If you are a member of DNT, you may borrow a DNT cabin key against a deposit of NOK 100, which is refunded upon return. To get the key you can either visit one of the below listed places, and bring a valid proof of membership, by card, app, email, or by text message. Or, you can order on the website. Note that the deposit of NOK 100 only will be possible with the Membership discount code that you find at Min Side on www.dnt.no

Only members of Den Norske Turistforening (DNT), Svenska Turistforäningen (STF) and Suomen Latu (SL) can make a deposit of the key. Remember that a valid membership card must be submitted. If members of STF and SL want to order the key from the webshop, please make sure you sign up for a profile at DNTbutikken.no and send us an e-mail with you membership details, so we can make the correct adjustments before ordering.

Where to use the key

DNT has more than 550 cabins throughout Norway. About 450 of them are not staffed and are self-service or no-service cabins. The DNT-key fits the locks on almost all of these cabins. Browse to find the cabin of your choice on UT.no and check to see if the DNT-key is listed under "Key". Bookings can be made on hyttebestilling.dnt.no

Keeping a DNT-key

You may keep a DNT-key as long as you are a member. You can return a DNT-key and be refunded the NOK 100 deposit at a DNT staffed lodge, a DNT office or a collaborating partner office. If you want to become a member, please take a look here
